São Paulo (SP) - The major races held in Brazil, sponsored and organized by Yescom and Globo TV Network, are becoming internationalized. The 17th Marathon of Sao Paulo 2011, the 5th International Half-Marathon of Sao Paulo 2011, the 15th International Half Marathon of Rio 2011, the 7th 10 K Rio Pan American Race 2011, and the 86 Sao Silvestre 2010, are being promoted in the in New York City Marathon Fair.

The New York City Marathon will be held this Sunday morning (11/7); 45 thousand runners will participate, including two-time winner Marilson Gomes dos Santos. Due to its prime location, the Brazilian exhibition booth, produced by Yescom, has became a focus point for more than 400 Brazilians and hundreds of foreigners who are in New York to compete in the race.

"We are located in a strategic part of the Fair, right in front of the race sponsor: ING, an obligatory passage for all runners and visitors. It's the biggest booth of the Fair, after the New York City Marathon stand," says Thadeus Kassabian, director of Yescom, organizer of the competitions.

The international promotion of the Brazilian races began last month in Athens, in an event that celebrated 2,500 years of the marathon; and after New York will go on to participate in events in Berlin, London, Buenos Aires, and Prague. "Our objective is to present the major races that take place in Brazil and reach a significant number of foreigners, taking advantage of athletes who travel around the world to compete in such events," adds Kassabian.
